CIMAS Stops Paying For Drugs

Medical aid provider CIMAS, one of Zimbabwe’s (if not the) largest, has suspended payments for medication.

CIMAS clients now have to pay cash at pharmacies and dispensaries, and then claim for it from their medical aid.

Interestingly, CIMAS will still receive contributions whilst not fulfilling their obligations.

TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF THE DRUG FACILITY

Due to abuse and fraudulent activities perpetrated by persons unknown using the Cimas cards, we have suspended the online drug facility system with immediate effect. The matter has been reported to the responsible authorities.

Providers are advised that patients will unfortunately have to pay cash for drugs and claim from the Society. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and hope to remedy the situation soon.
