The government of Zimbabwe has finally drafted a Consumer Protection Bill.
This will result in the establishment of a Consumer Court and a Consumer Protection Commission, a development that is sure to empower consumers.
The Consumer Protection Bill will be launched by the Minister of Industry and Commerce on Wednesday in an event at Meikles Hotel.
This is a welcome development, as the toothless Consumer Council of Zimbabwe has been ineffectual in meaningfully representing the interests of consumers.
