ZRP Schedule of Fines & Contact Numbers

Zimbabwe Republic Police National WhatsApp Number +263782475000

Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Inspector Muhoni has brought good news to many motorists who are forced to pay unscrupulous fines by police.

The police boss has revealed that anyone who is made to pay a fine at a traffic roadblock and is not sure how much he should have paid must immediately take the admission of guilt receipt to the nearest police station and get confirmation if they had been rightfully charged. If over charged they can immediately get their money refunded.

Sergeant Mujuru who handles National Police Complaints also echoed Muhoni’s sentiments saying that anyone who feels cheated has a right to call the National Complaints Hotline on 04 7036311 where their complaints will be attended to immediately.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police recently also launched a national WhatsApp hotline where members of the public can register their complaints to the police via Whatsapp. The ZRP National Whatsapp hotline number is +263782475000.

Meanwhile, below is a list of OFFICIAL fines that guilty motorists must pay as far as Zimbabwe Government’s Traffic Regulations are concerned.

Is there any fine if the bottom most lights on the front (fog lights) are ON with the head lights? Police charged me $20/- for it.
Though I argued , these are not problem to any moving traffic !!!!! Fog lights may be those flood lights , not these lights.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

A lady living at 7 Dan Judson Rd, Milton Park, Harare has been maquerading as Fungai Madyangove for over 20 years. She lost her birth certificate and asked her younger sibling (named Fungai Madyangove) if she could use her birth certificate in order to acquire a national identity card and passport. Her real name is Chiedza Madyangove from Chivi, Masvingo. I believe that this is a crime of identity theft and fraud. This individual has travelled to the neighbouring countries on countless occassions using this acquired identity.

Are you able to assist me in bringing this to justice and exposing her as a void entity? How much do you charge and what advise would you give me on this case?

    her ID number is 63-552595-G-12

i had a very bad experience with police officer who did not introduce himself in anyway. at plumtree road opposite lobels and halsteds brothers in Bulawayo in the morning at 07:20am .as i filtered into plumtree road he signaled me to stop due to the fact that there was heavy flow of traffic behind being mindful of the risk that may befall on myself i stopped a few yards away from his initial order and i did not drive away.he then came to me and accused me that i did not comply with his order and i explained the kind of risk that i was exposed to by stopping on the road with heavy traffic behind .He ordered me pay a fine of usd 20 on the spot arguing that i failed to comply with his order, frankly i did not have that usd 20 with me i requested in vain to be given a ticket so that i pay in 7days which i believed is the standard .The officer demanded i switch off the car and hand him the keys which i did honestly i had to leave the car and get a lift into town to look for the cash which i finally managed to get later at around 8:30 .i got a lift back to the site where i was ticketed usd 20 with charge FAILURE TO COMPLY .was that the right charge?was i wrong to park at a safer side ?.i stand guided /corrected am a concerned and affected citizen .

Sergeant Dube (Chiredzi Traffic Police) needs promotion as I see it from the harassing way and overcharging of fines he does to motorists with minor offences, moreso without following the schedules of fines. The bosses should accord him his desired promotion to safeguard the motorists and passengers. He should be aiming for the Commissioner General Position i think

  9. Marie says:

my son had a very minor accident and went to police station to pay the fine and the police officer would not let him pay – he told my son he had to go to court. My son was waiting for the summons in the meantime the police officer would not stop harrassing him and threatening him on the phone. Now 3 months later the policeman rocked up at my house no uniform an unmarked car and told me my son is going on the WANTED list for not paying the fine. The fine that he tried to pay and they would not let him. My son has left the country and gone to Canada so I dont know what will happen now. If it goes to court I will go on his behalf and tell the judge how hard my son tried to pay the 20 dollars fine and he wouldnt let him. It is ridiculous.

Oh my goodness, that’s horrible. Have you consulted a legal practitioner?

  10. Nevison says:

Failure to display a radio licence is not a traffic offence but police charges you $10.

  11. Paul says:

Amber is allowed the world over because there needs to be a way to show a driver that green is about to expire. Should I hit the brakes at 40km/hour when it suddenly turns amber from green with other cars behind me? What makes Zimbabwe different from the rest of the world that it needs to have different rules for amber?

  12. Peter Mudzwiti says:

I have just realised I was ripped off about two weeks ago between Chegutu and Chinhoyi where I was forced to pay $10 for not having White Front Reflectors when I said I thought that should be $5, I was shown a copy schedule showing $10. Next time I will ask for an original document!

    1. Joe Ruzvidzo says:

Or print out this document and carry a laminated copy in your glove compartment.

      1. Peter Mudzwiti says:

Yep, a laminated copy in the vehicle is going to be standard like jack and wheel spanner!!

  13. Jay says:

How much is fine for failure to display car radio licence?

    1. Joe Ruzvidzo says:

No idea at the moment, but I’ll try and find out
