Inspired to change your ads

Deck Magazine posted this photo on their Facebook page earlier today. I, literally, have no words for the amount of … creative inspiration … Econet took here. Imitation – the sincerest form of flattery. * Click the image for the full glory Update – TechZim did a story on this in 2011. I even commented on it. I guess it’s still pretty shocking (thanks 3-mob for the reminder)

Inspired to change my world?
Dear Econet Wireless

Updated below The weekend before last there was a data outage. I have seen no explanation whatsoever, whether online or via SMS. And we all know how you love to send SMS. This past weekend was the same. In fact, Sunday was the day I really needed a reliable data service, and there was none. With no explanation. This is unacceptable. For this reason, and this reason only, I’m buying

Econet customer care finally pick up the phone!

Don’t you just hate it when you scratch your recharge card far too vigorously, and accidentally delete one or more of the numbers, and then have to try and guess what they might be?!

Really?
Econet scratch cards do not cause skin cancer!

Econet Wireless is ruining my life

It is four in the morning as I write this, and I have already been awake for an hour. I have been awake for an hour because Econet Wireless sent me a text at three in the morning, telling me my account has been credited with 10 loyalty points for received calls. Now, I don’t have a problem with Econet’s efforts at promotions and benefits and value addition or whatever

Is Telecel any good?

There comes a time when any cellphone user has had enough.

Enough short messages lost in the wind.

Enough calls dropped for no evident reason.

Enough ineplixable network outages, signal droppages and service stoppages.

Every user has their limit, and I believe I have received enough product offers and random useless midnight messages from Econet to last me a lifetime

Responding to critics without looking uncool

This post has been inspired by an exchange I had with what appeared to be either an Econet higher-up or their flunkie, responding to a post about their website, the link to which I emailed them in good faith. It originally appeared at businessknowhow.com, a generic site for basic business ideas and common sense

Inspired to Spell Things Wrong

Updated below I ranted at Econet about their mobile broadband offering on my personal blog earlier this month, and posted a screenshot of a MASSIVE typo on the (new) homepage. It’s still there today. Judge for yourself. Also, the share price hasn’t changed either. Is anybody out there? Update 1 At 1156hrs today, I mailed this post to sales@econet.co.zw, info@econet.co.zw and management@econet.co.zw to see if we’d get a reaction. If
