the quality of journalism in this country leaves a lot to be desired. what is the job of the editor, pray tell me? what happened to proof reading? in my school years we were encouraged to read the newpapers in the library to improve our command of the English language. i fear what kind of ‘English’ children are supposed to learn from this kind of writing.
